Learn these simple tricks on how to change strings on an electric guitar.
Electric guitars use an electromagnetic induction to convert the vibrations of the strings into electric signals. It has the capability to get a multitude of sounds in different styles. These are usually used for live bands as well as jazz enthusiasts and rock players. Most prudent for all instruments, no wonder nowadays many young individuals want to learn how to play an electric guitar.
Most beginners find it difficult to change the strings of their guitars though it is just a simple task to do. There are different methods in changing the strings of an electric guitar and it depends on the kinds and types of such musical instrument.
Here are some helpful tips you can follow:
Prepare your tools
Find your tools in a music shop. You will need a small needle nose plier to help you wind and unwind your strings faster.
If you can’t find such a device, you can use your hand.
Change the string of your guitar one at a time. This is to avoid encountering trouble in changing each string from old to the new ones. And you will be able to change the string quickly.
Unwind the top string or the 6th string until it comes off the tuning machine.
Cut off the twisted end of the old string, to make it easily for you to get out the string from the guitar.
Trash the old string.
Replace the string. Do the opposite way in putting the new string on.
Pull the string to the other side or you can pull it up into the tuning peg.
Insert the string into the tuning machine. You can do it using your comfortable position.
If your new string is very long you will have to cut some of it off just enough for the length of your guitar. Make sure to leave at least 2 inches to wind up around the tuning peg.
Pull the string through the tuning peg and start winding. Wind until the string becomes tight. Make sure that you wind your string up into the knot.
Tune the string using the tuning peg.

What a great post on changing a guitar string. The video is especially nice reinforcement. For years, I never had a stringwinder, but those things can really make the winding part MUCH easier!
