By the time a person reaches his 75th birthday, he must have attended quite a number of birthdays or parties in his lifetime. Although, we have birthdays every year, I think that we should always make every one of them special, because that’s what they really are, anyway. It should even be more special when one reaches his 75th birthday, wherein one can really and should celebrate life, love, family and friends.

If you know of someone who is about to reach his 75th birthday, and you want to throw him a party, the following are some great 75th birthday ideas you can use:

The first thing you can do is to find a place for the party’s venue that is not very expensive and yet, still a good place to hold any special event, such as a room in a church or lodge. Make sure that you choose a room with a capacity of your tentative planned number of guests. Some lodges even provide discounts to their members. So, if you know of someone who is a member, you might want to ask him or her to become a sponsor for the venue. After that, while there is still enough time, book the best caterer in town that you can afford, so you would not have any problems later on, when all the best caterers and venues are already booked by others.

Then, try to plan the names of the guests whom you will invite, with someone else who also knows a lot about the celebrant. Invite all family members and friends that you know of the celebrant. You might even want to borrow his phone book to see whom else you have not included in the list.

After that, talk to the VIP of the party and ask different questions about his past, including the persons who have made great impacts in his lifetime. Then, try to ask these persons to make a little speech about stories in their lives in relation to the celebrant.

You should also research the different kinds of music being played during the time the celebrant was born or during his/her teen years. Download them and have them played at the party. You can even make the party more fun by having trivia games, such as who can answer questions about the celebrant and anything that relates to his/her past. You can also ask the celebrant to share to the guests some of his/her best memories.

Furthermore, collect pictures of the celebrant from his entire life to be shown at the party through a big television, or with the use of a projector. Find as much pictures of his past where he is included, especially, meaningful ones, such as the day he was born or got his first award in school, among others. Then, choose the ones you think is good to show to everyone. You can also have some of these old pictures copied and printed on papers to be used as placemats. They would certainly be good conversation pieces for everyone while waiting for the party to begin. You could also have them laminated, so they could be used as a party favors or remembrance of the event.

Guest books with pictures of the celebrant placed on each table can also be a great memento of the event. Guests can sign on them and write their messages for the celebrant.

Then, finally, make sure that you have lots of pictures taken of the event, as well as a video, that the celebrant and his loved ones can treasure forever.
